Rimouski Supercharger now open [Quebec]

Tesla has opened their third Supercharger in Canada this week, and second one in Quebec, turning on the power at the new station in Rimouski on Friday.

Also for the second time this week, Tesla was able to activate the Supercharger just under one year from when construction first started.

Crews began digging up the ground at the Rimouski Supercharger in October 2021. Like several other Supercharger projects in Quebec, progress was slow and the 8 V3 Supercharger pedestals weren’t installed until June 2022.

On Friday the station was finally energized, with Drive Tesla reader Pierre Roy being one of the first to plug in his 2014 Model S 85 in the afternoon.

The Rimouski Supercharger is located in the parking lot of the IGA at 395 avenue Sirois.

This is the second Supercharger to open along the Gaspé peninsula joining the other in Matane.

Earlier this week crews also turned on the new Cap-Rouge Supercharger. There are five others in Quebec still under construction or waiting to be turned on in Saint-Louis-de-Blanford, Berthierville, Saint-Jérôme, La Tuque, and Gaspé.
