Tesla Supercharger under construction in Matane [Quebec]

Tesla’s first Supercharger on the Gaspé peninsula is now under construction at the Matane Riotel (250 Av. du Phare E).

The location was originally posted by a Club Tesla Quebec administrator on Facebook. A photo of the site shows much of the initial construction has already been completed.

Underground wiring and electrical cabinets have been installed, and the site appears to be waiting for the Supercharger pedestals and related equipment to arrive.

From the photo it appears the site will feature 8 V3 Supercharger stalls, capable of charging at speeds of up to 250kW.

This is the first Supercharger to begin construction along the Gaspé peninsula, with others planned for Rimouski, Sainte-Anne-des-Monts, Gaspé, and Paspébiac.

According to Tesla, the Matane Supercharger is scheduled to open before the end of September. All other Superchargers along the Gaspé peninsula are slated for a Q4 2021 opening.

There are two other Superchargers currently under construction in Quebec in Lebourgneuf and St-Louis-de-Blandford.
