Kia and Electrify America announce Kia Niro EV charging perk

Kia America announced a partnership with Electrify America to provide 500 kilowatt-hours of complimentary fast-charging to new owners of Kia Niro EVs.

The charging credit will provide Niro owners with up to 1,950 miles of free charging on the Electrify America network.

Giovanni Palazzo, the President and CEO of Electrify America, had this to say about the new partnership:

Kia and Electrify America understand the importance of DC fast charging for electric vehicle drivers. We are thrilled to expand the collaboration and help provide Niro drivers with confident DC fast charging on our coast-to-coast network of 800 stations.

While COO and EVP of Kia America, Steven Center, said this:

With the launch of the new Niro EV, we are expanding our collaboration with Electrify America to enable Niro EV drivers to experience all-electric road trips with the added benefit of quick recharging.

Niro owners can find Electrify America charging stations through Kia’s in-car navigation.

To activate the offer, owners will find a one-time enrolment code for the Electrify America app through Kia’s owner’s portal or the Kia Access App.

Owners will have three years from the date of purchase to activate the code.

For those in Canada, we have yet to see the same partnership announced between Kia Canada and Electrify Canada.

However, as with previous promotions that announcement could come at a later date.
