Tesla to possibly debut refresh Model S/X at China International Consumer Products Expo this week

Tesla fans have been waiting to get an up close look at the brand new refresh Tesla Model S or Model X since it was announced in January. Some fans in China might get that chance this week at the inaugural China International Consumer Products Expo.

Tesla first announced their intentions to attend the expo in February. With the Shanghai Auto Show taking place just two weeks ago where they showed off the Model 3 and Model Y, everyone was assuming they would do the same at the expo.

But in a post to their Weibo account today, Tesla revealed they plan to bring “the full S3XY lineup” (translated from Chinese) indicating a possible debut of the refresh Model S/X. (h/t: Jensen)

To be clear, Tesla didn’t specify they would be bringing the refresh models, but it would be a bit of a strange move if they didn’t. Even before they officially announced the refresh design, Tesla was clearing out inventory and selling every last car they could.

Now that it is nearly 5 months later and test vehicles have been spotted on public roads in the US for several months, it would make sense that they would want to show off the latest and greatest, and not a car that they no longer manufacture.

If they do, it will be great exposure for Tesla. Organizers for the event are expecting more than 50,000 consumers will attend each day.
