Volkswagen launches newly redesigned ID.3

Volkswagen announced a new redesigned ID.3, hoping to win back frustrated customers. The launch came with much fan-fair, and the new redesign does look good.

VW noted they took customer feedback seriously and implemented that feedback through a sharpened exterior design and improved material quality in the interior. The new version of the ID.3 now features:

  • Latest VW ID Software package
  • A 12-inch central touch-screen and 10-inch driving unit
    • Optional cloud-based speech recognition program
    • New heads-up display
  • Higher-quality plastics and materials
  • Refreshed exterior, including bumper and taillights.

The previous version of the ID.3 was plagued with issues that frustrated customers. From concerns over the infotainment system and safety features to charging problems and range discrepancies, the ID.3 was not the vehicle that Volkswagen envisioned. So, the refresh gives VW a chance to wipe the slate clean and produce the car it always wanted.

The new ID.3 will come in the Pro and Pro S trims when sales start later this month.

The Pro will come with a 58 kWh battery with a range of 265 miles. While the Pro S will come with a 77 kWh battery pack with a range of 339 miles.

VW did not confirm the pricing of the new vehicle or the day sales will start.
