Tesla appears to be rolling out an updated version of its Super Manifold thermal-management system in Model Y vehicles produced at Giga Berlin, bringing another under-the-skin hardware change to the electric SUV.
The newer Super Manifold V2 was recently spotted in a Coastal Blue Model Y Standard manufactured at Tesla’s German factory on August 27, 2026. However, the change may have entered production earlier, with at least one owner on the TFF forums reporting the newer component in a Model Y Standard built in June.
What changes with Super Manifold V2?
Tesla’s Super Manifold is a key part of the Model Y’s thermal-management system, working alongside the heat pump and Octovalve to manage temperatures throughout the vehicle. The system helps move heat where it is needed between components including the battery, cabin and drive unit.
Compared with the previous version, Super Manifold V2 reportedly consolidates more components into a single assembly while providing greater thermal capacity and improved efficiency. The changes should also help the heat pump and battery cooling system handle demanding conditions, including sustained high-power driving and Supercharging.
How to check if your Model Y has Super Manifold V2
To know if which version you have, the Super Manifold V2 is located on the left side of the frunk, underneath the frunk tub. If you have the new version, it will be clearly labeled with ‘SUPER MANIFOLD V2’.
Aside from a visual check, Tesla’s Parts Catalog provides another way for owners to determine which version their vehicle received. After entering a VIN, owners can check which Super Manifold is listed as the “Original VIN Part.” The older assembly carries part number 1547595-00-H, while the newer Super Manifold V2 is listed as 1735000-00-A.
When did Tesla make the switch?
Exactly when Tesla began installing the revised hardware at Giga Berlin isn’t clear. The August 27 vehicle confirms it is appearing on recently produced Model Ys, while the June owner report suggests the transition may have started at least several weeks earlier or could vary by configuration.
As with many Tesla hardware revisions, there has been no formal announcement accompanying the change. While Super Manifold V2 doesn’t necessarily translate into an immediate increase in rated range or charging speed, greater thermal capacity and efficiency could allow for future improvements to charging, performance and overall energy consumption.
