Tesla is preparing to expand its presence in the Middle East, confirming plans to officially enter Oman in 2027. The automaker has already started recruiting employees in the country’s capital, Muscat, ahead of the launch.

Pawel Trzpis, who leads Tesla’s Middle East market, broke the news on LinkedIn on October 13.

Tesla begins hiring in Oman

Tesla has posted three full-time positions in Muscat, including a Store Manager, Sales Advisor, and Customer Experience Specialist, according to EVwire.

All three positions fall under the company’s Sales & Customer Support division, suggesting Tesla is planning to establish a physical retail presence rather than relying exclusively on online sales.

The company has not yet announced where its first store will be located or when customers will be able to place orders. There are also no service or Supercharger positions listed at this stage, although additional hiring is expected as preparations continue.

Nearly a decade in the making

Tesla’s arrival in Oman has been a long time coming. During the company’s UAE launch in February 2017, Elon Musk identified Oman as one of the markets Tesla planned to enter next.

Nearly ten years later, those plans are finally moving forward.

Oman will be Tesla’s next Gulf market after Saudi Arabia, where it launched in April 2025. Within a year of launching there, Tesla was running stores and service centres in Riyadh and Jeddah and had opened 48 Supercharger stalls in the kingdom.

Tesla also operates in several other Middle Eastern markets, including the UAE, Qatar, Jordan, and Israel.
