Kia has opened orders in Canada for the 2027 EV4 GT, a top-of-the-line dual-motor all-wheel-drive trim of the electric sedan that is currently only available north of the border, and not the United States.
According Kia Canada, the GT 4 starts at $58,595, or $61,344 all-in with freight, environmental fees, and other charges. It is Kia’s third “affordable” EV in Canada to get the GT treatment, and is now available to order on Kia’s website.
More Power and AWD for the EV4 GT
The GT gets the larger 81.4 kWh battery and a Kia-estimated 431 km of range, which is Kia’s figure rather than an NRCan rating. Power rises from 201 horsepower and 209 lb-ft on the regular FWD car to a combined 288 horsepower and 345 lb-ft with the second motor and AWD. That power translates to a 0-100 km/h time of 5.6 seconds.
Kia’s usual GT kit is on the car – neon-accented calipers, suede and synthetic leather seats, 20-inch wheels, a themed cluster, and a GT button on the steering wheel. The GT also gets a trim-exclusive head-up display that puts speed and navigation on the windshield.
How the EV4 GT Compares to the Tesla Model 3
The closest competitor for the EV4 GT in Canada is the Tesla Model 3. Specifically, the Premium AWD variant, which is much less expensive ($52,620 all in), more powerful (376 horsepower), significantly quicker from 0 to 100 km/h (4.4 seconds), and boasts significantly longer range (570 km).
EV4 Remains a Canada-Only Option in North America
The rest of the EV4 lineup stays FWD across five trims, from Light Standard Range through GT-Line Limited Long Range. The hatchback sold in Europe has not been part of the Canadian offer.
Kia delayed the EV4 for the United States indefinitely last year. The standard front-wheel-drive EV4 arrived in Canada in late 2025 from $38,995, undercutting the Fiat 500e at $39,995. As we noted in July, that sedan still sits under the EV5 SUV in Kia’s Canadian price charts.
Kia says the EV3 is now its lowest-priced EV in Canada, taking that label off the base EV4. The EV5 remains a Canada-only SUV in North America. The EV6, meanwhile, is gone here for 2026 even as it continues in the U.S.
