Tesla had a strong finish to the third quarter in Europe, with the Model 3 and Model Y finishing September as the most-registered cars in several countries.

The biggest milestone came in Spain, where the Tesla Model 3 became the first EV to finish a full month as the country’s best-selling passenger car across all powertrain types.

According to ANFAC data, Tesla registered 2,528 Model 3s in September, an increase of 27.9% from a year earlier. That put it comfortably ahead of the Seat Ibiza with 2,183 registrations and the Dacia Sandero with 2,157. (via eleconomista)

Spain’s overall new-car market reached 93,858 units for the month, giving the Model 3 about a 2.7% share. The September result wasn’t enough to put it near the top for the full year, however, with the Dacia Sandero still leading through September with 25,926 registrations.

Tesla also took the top spot in France, this time with the Model Y. It recorded 8,183 registrations, more than 300 ahead of the Peugeot 208 at 7,860, while the Renault Clio finished third with 6,302.

The Model Y performed particularly well among private buyers, recording 6,908 registrations, an increase of 84.7% compared with September 2025.

That same pattern played out across several other European markets. In Norway, the Model Y recorded 4,810 registrations and captured an impressive 25.7% of the entire new-car market, roughly eight times the 576 registrations of the second-place Volvo EX30.

In Sweden, the Model Y finished first with 2,330 registrations, up 68%, and more than 1,000 units ahead of the Volvo XC60 at 1,262.

Tesla also scored one-two finishes in Denmark and the Netherlands. The Model Y led Denmark with 1,226 registrations, followed by the Model 3 with 1,073. In the Netherlands, the Model Y recorded 2,078 registrations, ahead of the Model 3 at 1,087.

The Model Y was also September’s leader in Ireland with 744 registrations, compared with 296 for the MG4, while Switzerland recorded 1,680 Model Y registrations in a market of 21,948 vehicles.
