Tesla has officially started construction on two new Superchargers in British Columbia, expanding the company’s fast charging network in the interior of the province.
According to updates to Tesla’s Find Us map, both Sicamous and Keremeos have now been updated from “in development” to “under construction.”
Sicamous Supercharger
Of the two project, Sicamous appears to be the furthest along. Tesla first added Sicamous to its Supercharger map in November 2025 as an “In Development” site, but little information emerged in the months that followed. However, as of this week, the project is now listed as under construction.
The new Supercharger is being built at 806 Trans-Canada Highway in Sicamous. The photo was posted to Plugshare on May 2026 showing excavation work was already underway at that time, indicating the site is likely much further along by now.
Keremeos Supercharger
The road to construction has been much longer for Keremeos. Tesla originally added the town to its Supercharger map in March 2024 with an initial target opening date later that same year. However, the project later disappeared entirely from Tesla’s Find Us page, and for quite a while.
The site reappeared in September 2025 when Tesla quietly added Keremeos to the map as an “In Development” location. Now, the company has once again updated the site’s status, this time to “Under Construction.”
The future station is planned for 518 Highway Hwy (yes, highway highway) in Keremeos. Unlike Sicamous, no construction photos have surfaced publicly yet.
