Schneider Electric has launched its Level 2 residential EV charger in Canada, which does not require panel or electrical service upgrades.
Their Level 2 smart charger has sold well in Europe and includes SmartAmp dynamic load management technology. This feature lets the charger monitor electrical loads in real time and adjust its output to match available capacity.
The charger provides 11.5 kW of Level 2 charging and comes in two variations with NACS and J1772 connectors. The charger is also rated for both indoor and outdoor installation and will continue to operate as designed down to -30.
In Canada, Schneider has partnered with Qmerit, which will provide home electrification and EV charging installation across the country.
This is not the first French EV charger available in Canada. The company launched the Schneider Charge Pro charger, which should be available in Canada later in 2026. This commercial charger is designed for commercial and multifamily properties, providing 48-amp and 80-amp configurations for EV charging.
