A Rivian electric delivery van has been spotted wearing Walmart branding in Indiana, raising questions about whether the retail giant could be considering the automaker’s electric delivery vans for its fleet.
According to a post on Reddit on Tuesday, the van was photographed on a multi-car trailer travelling along Interstate 94 in northwest Indiana.
The van featured a large Walmart+ logo on its side, along with the slogan “Same day. Right to your door.” printed across its rear doors.

While we have seen plenty of Rivian delivery vans in branding other than Amazon, what makes this sighting interesting is that neither Rivian nor Walmart have announced a partnership.
This suggests Walmart could be testing Rivian’s commercial vehicles, although there is currently no confirmation that a testing program or pilot is underway.
Rivian originally developed its electric delivery vans for Amazon, which placed an order for 100,000 vehicles in 2019 under an exclusive arrangement with the automaker.
That exclusivity ended in late 2023, and Rivian opened sales of its commercial vans to other businesses in early 2025. Its other customers include AT&T and HelloFresh.
Walmart has also been expanding its electric delivery fleet through other manufacturers, although some of those efforts have encountered setbacks.
In 2022, Walmart agreed to purchase 4,500 electric vans from Canoo, but the automaker filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy in January 2025.
Walmart also reserved 5,000 General Motors BrightDrop vans in 2022, adding them to its fleet in late 2024.
However, GM ended BrightDrop production at its CAMI Assembly plant in Ingersoll, Ontario, in October 2025, leaving Walmart with fewer options for expanding its electric delivery operations.
