Tesla now has more Cybercabs registered in Texas than Model Ys, reaching the milestone less than two months after the company registered its first Cybercabs with the state.

Tesla registered 81 more Cybercabs on Tuesday morning, as we reported on X, and the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) registry now lists 1,051 vehicles in Tesla’s Robotaxi fleet.

Of those, 544 are Cybercabs, representing 52% of the fleet, while the remaining 507 are Model Ys, accounting for 48%.

The latest registration data puts Cybercabs ahead of Model Ys in Tesla’s Texas Robotaxi registry, although registration does not necessarily mean a vehicle is actively carrying passengers.

The milestone comes less than two months after Tesla began registering Cybercabs with the state ahead of their introduction to its Robotaxi fleet.

On August 31, Tesla registered its first seven Cybercabs with the TxDMV, a number that quickly grew to 45 later that same day.

Those initial registrations came ahead of Tesla’s Cybercab launch event in Austin on September 3, with the purpose-built autonomous vehicles officially joining the Robotaxi fleet on September 4.

Since then, Tesla has continued adding Cybercabs to the registry, with Tuesday’s latest batch pushing the model ahead of the Model Y.

The growing number of registered Cybercabs comes as Tesla says production of the vehicle is already moving faster than it can deploy them.

During a recent Munro Live factory tour, Tesla’s Lars Moravy said the company does not operate its Cybercab production line every day because production is outpacing Robotaxi deployments.
