Lucid appears on track to deliver the first Air Dream Edition cars this month

Lucid officially began series production of the Air Dream Edition last month. With the announcement the automaker said they were targeting to deliver the first luxury electric sedans to customers in late October.

With one week to go before the end of the month, it looks like they are just going to be able to meet that deadline.

Earlier this morning the company shared a photo of a car carrier loaded with six Air Dream Edition cars heavily wrapped in protective plastic leaving their AMP-1 production facility in Casa Grande, Arizona.

The Air Dream Edition is a limited run of just 520 vehicles. That number was set to match the car’s EPA estimated range of 520 miles (836km) on a full charge, more than 100 miles more than the Long Range Model S.

Reservations for the Air Dream Edition have sold out, even with a hefty price tag of $229,000 CAD or $169,000 USD. Customers can still join a waitlist to receive one if a customer cancels their order.

Lucid opened their first international retail location earlier this month in Vancouver. Drive Tesla was invited for an exclusive behind the scenes tour before the official opening, you can check out our coverage below.
