Tesla Roadster Livestream – How to Watch

Tesla Roadster teaser with full-width light bar

Tesla has confirmed when fans will be able to watch the highly anticipated unveiling of its next-generation Roadster, with the event scheduled to take place this Thursday, October 15, 2026.

In a post on X Tuesday, Tesla announced the event will be livestreamed starting at 7:55pm Central Time. Across Canada, that works out to 5:55 PM PT, 6:55 PM MT, 8:55 PM ET, 9:55 PM AT and 10:25 PM NT.

The announcement comes after Tesla was forced to postpone the original October 1 unveiling due to severe weather in Texas. The event, which is reportedly being held at SpaceX’s test facility in McGregor, near Waco, requires outdoor conditions for what is expected to be a demonstration of the electric sports car’s capabilities.

Tesla had been monitoring the forecast with local meteorologists before deciding to push the event back two weeks. CEO Elon Musk later confirmed high winds were responsible for the delay.

Tesla first took the wraps off the Roadster prototype in November 2017, back when it was targeting 2020 for production. However, that timeline has repeatedly slipped, with Musk pointing to work on the tri-motor drive system and advanced battery, and later to supply-chain shortages.

When originally announced, Tesla promised some impressive specifications, including a 0-60 mph acceleration time of 1.9 seconds, a top speed exceeding 250 mph (402 km/h), and up to 620 miles (998 km) of range.

As Tesla has already hinted, those specs will be different, most notably the acceleration, which should be closer to 1 second with the rumoured SpaceX cold gas thrusters.

The company has teased the unveiling with its “Go for launch” message and a glimpse of a redesigned front end featuring a full-width light bar.
