First shipment of Volkswagen ID.4 vehicles arrives in U.S., Canada still waiting for a price

The first set of Volkswagen ID.4 electric vehicles (EVs) have landed in the U.S. this week, arriving at the Port of Baltimore on Monday, March 8.

The arrival was announced on Twitter by Volkswagen USA, proclaiming “The all-electric VW ID.4 SUVs have arrived!”

With the EVs now in North America, customers should expect to receive the new cars this month.

Deliveries were originally scheduled to begin in December 2020, but the automaker decided to focus their efforts on selling more of the electric SUVs in Europe in attempt to avoid hefty emissions fines.

For Canadians, the first ID.4 EVs are still set to begin in mid-2021. Even with the first deliveries just days away south of the border, we still do not know what the price will be when it arrives in Canada.

When they do quantities will be limited, so VW Canada has said they will focus on British Columbia, Quebec, and Ontario first, the provinces with the highest rate of EV adoption.
