Model Y L Launch Series delivery estimates slip to March 2027 in the U.S.

Tesla has extended the delivery timelines for the Model Y L Launch Series in the US. The online configurator now shows order placed today could be delivered as late as March 2027.

In a post on X, Merritt shared that deliveries of the Launch Series edition of the larger SUV have been pushed into March 2027. This means at least a month’s extension for some customers.

Meanwhile, other buyers may have to wait even longer. Merritt said some orders now have estimated deliveries between February and April. Another Model Y L order holder confirmed this in a reply, with an estimated delivery window of February 10 – April 17.

While this is disappointing news for some customers, the delay is likely due to good news for the company. Tesla is seeing a high demand for the six-seater Model Y variant, while also battling supply issues. It is likely that Tesla hasn’t introduced lower-priced, “regular” Model Y L trims for the same reasons.

Tesla introduced the Model Y L in the US in July and immediately opened the order books for the Launch Series edition. It starts at US$61,990, which is US$4,000 more expensive than the Performance trim. However, the premium price includes perks such as a year of Full Self-Driving (Supervised), Supercharging, and Premium Connectivity. Other exclusives include custom floor mats, puddle lights, unique badging, and special door sill plates.

Tesla has also launched accessories for Model Y L. The SUV has an EPA-estimated driving rage of 332 miles (534 km). Meanwhile, there is no official information on the launch of the Model Y L in Canada, and with the government of Canada recently restricting Tesla’s ability to import from China until at least March 2027, there is no clear indication of when the Model Y L might arrive here.
