2022 Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo officially unveiled

Porsche today officially unveiled their next electric sports car, the 2022 Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo.

Like its big brother, the Taycan, the Cross Turismo offers the same performance with a little more versatility. The interior finishes are identical, but the wagon-like design gives passengers more headroom. The extra space also makes the rear seat usable and adds to the cargo capacity of the EV.

Performance wise the two cars are also very similar as they share the same electric motors. The top of the line Cross Turismo Turbo S reaches 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds, just 0.1 seconds off the time for the Taycan.

What is different is the battery – all Cross Turismo variants will come equipped with the larger 93.4kWh Performance Battery Plus. Porsche has not yet announced official EPA ratings, but it should be similar to the Taycan’s EPA ratings.

The car will also comes with an optional Off-Road Design Package that increases ground clearance by as much as 30mm. Combined with AWD as standard and the new Gravel driving mode, Porsche says the Cross Turismo “can be driven on demanding off-road terrain.

The Cross Turismo will be offered in the same variants as the Taycan. Prices range from $119,900 CAD to $218,00 CAD, and the car is expected in showrooms later this year.
