Tesla has announced Giga Berlin has now produced more than 750,000 Model Ys since opening in March 2022. The update comes as the automaker is also in the middle of increasing production capacity at the German factory by 20%.
The milestone was shared by Tesla Manufacturing on X, alongside a new behind-the-scenes video highlighting operations inside Giga Berlin. The footage showcases several areas of the factory, including the paint shop, drive unit production, stamping operations, final assembly lines, as well as some of the 11,000 employees that helped make it all happen.
The last production milestone for Giga Berlin came in October 2024, when the factory produced its 400,00th Model Y.
According to Tesla, the Model Ys built at the factory have also collectively driven themselves more than 93,000 miles (150,000 km) using Full Self-Driving (FSD) while travelling autonomously from the end of the production line to outbound logistics lots.

Giga Berlin Continues Expansion
The 750,000-unit milestone is significant considering Giga Berlin only opened a little over four years ago. The factory initially launched with a relatively modest production rate before steadily ramping output over time, despite challenges ranging from supply chain disruptions to local environmental protests.
Tesla is now pushing the factory into another expansion phase. As previously reported by Drive Tesla, the automaker is currently working to increase production at Giga Berlin by approximately 20%. The expansion is expected to help Tesla meet growing demand across Europe while also improving export capacity to other markets, including Canada.
To support the higher output, Tesla will be hiring 1,000 additional workers and converting 500 temporary employees into permanent staff positions. The company has been actively recruiting across manufacturing, logistics, and engineering roles as it prepares for the next stage of growth at the site.
Other Giga Berlin Milestones
The 750,000-vehicle achievement is just one of several major milestones Tesla has recently reached at Giga Berlin. Earlier this year, the factory also celebrated producing its 1 millionth drive unit, highlighting how the site has evolved beyond just vehicle assembly into a critical part of Tesla’s global manufacturing network.
Tesla has also continued expanding the factory campus itself. One of the newest additions is the “Giga Arena,” a large recreational center for factory employees used for sports and other activities.
