Tesla has opened a new facility in Germany. The new structure is on the same lot as Giga Berlin and will serve as a recreational center for factory employees.
The new facility, Giga Arena, will be used for sports and other activities. Tesla staff members pursuing an active lifestyle can use the two courts for football and basketball. The arena, which sits next to the main factory, will be available between shift breaks or after work.

Tesla stated that the new addition was built based on recommendations from the intended users. The video shared by Tesla shows before-and-after shots of the space. Tesla staff can also be seen shooting hoops and kicking a soccer ball around.
The post ends with a solicitation for employment applications, with plant manager Andre Thierig adding that the new facility makes Giga Berlin cool.
Giga Berlin is located in Grunheide, near Berlin, and employs more than 11,000 people. The factory produces the Model Y for European markets, and more recently Canada, and officially opened in 2022.
Tesla has big plans for Giga Berlin. The facility will accommodate a 20% increase in Model Y production, starting in July, following a rebound in Model Y sales in Europe in Q1 2026. To support the ramp, the automaker is preparing to sign on about 1,000 new employees and move 500 temporary staff to permanent positions.
CEO Elon Musk has also indicated that Giga Berlin may produce other high-volume products, including the Optimus humanoid robot.
Giga Berlin also recently marked the production of its 1 millionth drive unit.
