In its latest video Tesla shows off the comprehensive stress tests it does on its models. This latest round of testing involved heat testing that happened in one of the hottest places on earth, the desert of the United Arab Emirates, where temperatures exceeded 120°F (49°C) with high humidity during the day.
In the video, the testing group tested a black Model Y and Model X. However, Tesla engineers were also testing a Model 3 and Model S on site. They do everything from multiple charges to running the AC at full blast to parking on the roadside to test the vehicle and its reliability.
The mountainous region with high heat also allows Tesla engineers to test out the drivetrain and other vehicle features in extreme temperatures. Per the video, the black test vehicles were driven between 150 and 250 miles daily to test reliability and durability during these scorching hot conditions.
The summer and winter testing in Norway allows Tesla to know how their vehicles run in both extreme conditions.
