Tesla Supercharger under construction in Cobourg [Ontario]

A new Tesla Supercharger is under construction in Cobourg, Ontario.

The new Supercharger is located in the parking lot near Mark’s clothing store and Canadian Tire at 1125 Elgin Street West, just a short 2 minute drive off Hwy 401. Construction at the site has just begun, and several pieces of Supercharger equipment are already on site with the signature Tesla Energy logo, according to photos taken by Brad Trumper, who shared them on the Tesla Model Y Canadian Facebook group.

Although we can’t tell from the photos, based on the Supercharger’s location in the parking lot it appears as though the site will feature 8 stalls, and of course be the latest V3 Superchargers capable of charging at speeds up to 250kW.

Nearby amenities include a Tim Hortons and a convenience store for the Canadian Tire gas station. The Northumberland Mall is also located directly across the street.

The Cobourg Supercharger will be located about 10 minutes away from the Port Hope Superchargers. That station features 8 stalls, but has the slower 150kW V2 Superchargers.

Other Superchargers coming soon along the 401 include those in Gananoque and Trenton, as well as the long awaited Brockville Supercharger, all of which are supposed to open before the end of the year.

According to Tesla, the Cobourg Supercharger is set to open in Q3 2022.
