Tesla planning 8-stall Supercharger at Gananoque Canadian Tire [Ontario]

Almost halfway through the year, it looks like Tesla is finally working on a new Supercharger between Kingston and Cornwall.

While it isn’t the long awaited Brockville location, there are still 8 stalls coming soon to Gananoque, about 30 km east of Kingston.

The subject property is that of the Canadian Tire, located at 705 King St E.

Back in April, Tesla and Canadian Niagara Power Inc requested an easement to install a utility pole on municipal grounds. From there, power will run underground across the street to a 1000kVA transformer which will disserve the Supercharger.

A conceptual plan of the site is available below.

As far as development along the 401 goes, Gananoque is the second location this year following Trenton, which was discovered back in February. The two remaining locations are Cobourg and Brockville.

All are set to open by the end of 2022.
