Just five days after it became available, the Model S Signature Edition has officially sold out, closing the books on Tesla’s final run of its flagship sedan. The sellout follows closely behind the Model X Signature Edition, which reached the same milestone in just four days.
Together, the two vehicles—limited to 250 Model S units and 100 Model X units—have now fully sold out, with Tesla pulling the configurator, which was only available if you received an email invitation to order, for the Model S on Thursday night.
The pace of sales highlights just how strong demand was for these ultra-exclusive variants, despite their steep price tags of US$160,000 each. Tesla sold an average of 50 Model S Signature Editions per day over five days, compared to roughly 25 Model X units per day during its four-day run.
Combined, that’s about 70 vehicles per day across both models while they were available. In total, Tesla moved 350 US$160,000+ vehicles in less than a week.
From a revenue perspective, the combined sellout generated an estimated $56 million in revenue. That translates to roughly $40 million from the Model S Signature Edition and $16 million from the Model X Signature Edition alone.
The Signature Edition models were positioned as a sendoff for the Model S and Model X, which are now entering the final stages of their lifecycle. Tesla recently ended custom orders for both vehicles, leaving only existing inventory and these limited-run editions as the last opportunities for buyers before the company converts the production lines for Optimus.
Beyond their rarity, the Signature Editions offered a long list of exclusive features, including Garnet Red paint, gold Tesla badging, upgraded interiors with Alcantara and unique accents, and individually numbered plaques. Each vehicle also came fully loaded with Tesla’s Luxe Package, bundling Full Self-Driving (Supervised), free Supercharging, Premium Connectivity, and four years of Premium Service.
Tesla also implemented a one-year no-resale clause for buyers, aimed at preventing immediate flipping and preserving the exclusivity of the vehicles.
