Tesla has reopened reservations for the next-generation Roadster in Canada and the United States, just under two weeks before the vehicle is finally revealed almost 10 years after its first debut.
According to Tesla’s website, the reservation process has returned with a two-step payment structure. Buyers in Canada must first submit a $6,000 credit card payment, which Tesla lists as “Fully refundable,” followed by a $58,000 wire transfer due within 10 days.
In the U.S. the amounts are $5,000 for the intial deposit, and then $45,000 within 10 days.
Previously, Tesla required US$250,000 to reserve a Founder Series Roadster, before removing pricing from their website in 2021.
Today, Tesla also reminds customers that, “Reservations are not final until the wire transfer payment is received.”
Despite re-opening reservations, Tesla has not provided additional details on delivery dates or final pricing, only saying the purchase price won’t be set until the company figures out what the Roadster will come with in terms of available options and hardware specifications.
The Roadster reservation system returning comes ahead of Tesla’s planned next-generation Roadster reveal on October 1, 2026. The company has also previously indicated the vehicle will be built in Texas, although Tesla has not announced production timing.
