Tesla’s delivery backlog continues to grow in Canada, with the Model 3 now essentially sold out for the remainder of 2026.
According to Tesla’s online configurator, estimated delivery windows for all three Model 3 variants have now been pushed to December 2026-January 2027. That includes the Model 3 Premium Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD), Premium All-Wheel Drive (AWD), and Performance variant.
The change is another significant increase in wait times. Earlier in August, both the Premium RWD and Premium AWD were showing September-October delivery estimates, while the Performance was expected in October-November.
With the latest update, customers placing an order today may not receive their car until early next year.
Model 3 joins Model Y with lengthy Canadian waits
The Model 3 now joins the Model Y in facing lengthy delivery timelines in Canada. Earlier this month, the Model Y RWD and Performance were already showing December 2026-January 2027 estimates, while the Premium AWD was listed for December. The RWD and Performance dates still hold, but the Premium AWD is now also showing December 2026-January 2027.
However, there is an important difference between the two. Canadian Model Y inventory is currently being supplied from Giga Berlin in Germany, while Canada’s Model 3 supply comes from Giga Shanghai in China. Both locations can add significant time to the delivery window with overseas shipping and logistics added to the equation.
Despite being sourced internationally, a similar story is taking place south of the border. Earlier this month, estimated delivery for the entry-level Model 3 RWD in the U.S. jumped from just four to five weeks to January-March 2027.
