Tesla diagnostic software is now available in the United States

Tesla quietly released two service subscription packages that would allow owners to work on their vehicles. This is currently only available in the United States.

The first subscription is the Service and Repair Information package. This package includes access to manuals, tooling catalogues, wiring diagrams and other pertinent documents.

According to Tesla owner @greentheonly, who first shared news of the packages on Twitter, owners had access to these documents previously.

The second subscription option gives Tesla owners access to Tesla’s diagnostic software. This information was not available to owners in the United States but was available to owners in Europe.

In December 2020, Tesla provided European owners access to their vehicles’ toolbox features, granting diagnostics and other software access.

According to some close to the company, the European owners access to the toolbox may have been a trial run for this US release.

Tesla did not confirm if or when the two subscriptions would come to other jurisdictions.
