Tesla Cybercabs and Model Y Robotaxis descended upon the Formula 1 United States Grand Prix in Austin over the weekend, following its recent service expansion to Circuit of the Americas (COTA).
According to videos and photos shared on X on Sunday, October 25, dozens of Tesla Robotaxis were seen transporting passengers to and from the race venue, with Cybercabs making up a large portion of the vehicles spotted.
Meanwhile, one of the more impressive photos was shared by Ben Steindl, showing a long line of gold Cybercabs and Model Y Robotaxis waiting along a roadside. Tesla Vice President of AI Software Ashok Elluswamy shared the image, saying, “Robotaxis as far as the eye can see!”

After the race, a traffic camera image shared by Cybercab Spotter showed several Cybercabs heading out as attendees requested rides home. The camera is near Austin-Bergstrom Airport, about 7.3 miles from the track.

One passenger also shared their experience riding home in a Cybercab after the race, highlighting the ability to watch the post-race coverage on the vehicle’s screen instead of sitting in the back of a traditional rideshare like Uber.
So much cooler being driven home watching the post race show then being stuck in the back of an uber. Thank you @robotaxi and @Tesla https://t.co/e7ZLqbB2Tn

The activity follows a busy Saturday for Tesla’s autonomous fleet. According to Wessel van Keulen, community spotters logged an unofficial 1,250 Cybercab sightings in Austin on Saturday, qualifying day, with 1,159, or 93%, showing nobody in the driver’s seat. These are community counts, not a Tesla fleet number, and represent sightings rather than unique vehicles.
Tesla’s registered Robotaxi fleet in Texas has also continued growing. According to Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV) registration data posted, the fleet stands at 970 vehicles, including 463 Cybercabs and 507 Model Ys.
All 32 vehicles added in the latest registration update were Cybercabs, bringing their total up from 158 on October 2. However, registration figures do not indicate how many vehicles are actively operating.
