Tesla has reportedly signed a lease to add a massive new Service Center in Santa Monica, California.
Located at 1100 Colorado Avenue, Tesla will be taking over a 82,000 square foot warehouse and office building previously occupied by auto body repair and paint shop Caliber Collision.
The 2.8 acre lot also features two large fenced parking lots that can house well over 100 vehicles.
According to the firm that brokered the deal, DAUM Commercial Real Estate Services, the long-term lease is worth about $12 million. The company would not confirm Tesla is the new tenant, only saying there was “significant interest and several offers,” with an electric vehicle company being the successful bidder, reports L.A. Biz.
Santa Monica already has an existing Tesla showroom less than 1 mile (1.6km) away at 395 Santa Monica Place.
The coastal city will also soon be home to the world’s largest V3 Supercharger. The 62-stall project will begin construction later this summer and will also feature 3 solar arrays and 1 Megapack battery unit.
