Geely has become the latest Chinese automaker to establish a Canadian web presence, launching a dedicated website as it prepares to bring its vehicles to Canada.
According to Geely’s Canadian website, geely.ca, they have plans to establish a dealer network as part of its expansion into the country. “Our Canadian journey is coming soon, with a growing dealer network planned for key markets across the country.” The site does not identify any cities, dealership groups or planned locations.
There are also plenty of details still missing. The site lists no vehicles, pricing, specifications, reservations or launch date, referring only to a “new generation of electrified vehicles.” Geely’s corporate profile lists Geely Auto, Lynk & Co and Zeekr as group brands, but gives no indication that the latter two are part of its Canadian plans.
Interestingly, the French-language version provides a little more detail, saying Geely’s Canadian journey is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2027 with a dealer network expanding across major markets. The English page has no corresponding date.

The website is the latest sign Geely has been preparing to launch EV sales in Canada. In April, we reported on the company hiring in Toronto for six senior positions tied to the “Geely Auto Brand.” A month later, EX5 and EX2 test vehicles were spotted arriving at Toronto Pearson, although Geely has not announced Canadian launch plans for either vehicle.
Geely isn’t the first Chinese automaker to establish a Canadian website ahead of its market entry. In August, BYD launched its Canadian website, which continues to display a “COMING SOON” message but does not provide a launch date, Canadian vehicle lineup or pricing. Like Geely, BYD has also been laying the groundwork behind the scenes, including hiring for Canadian operations and dealer development.
More recently, Chery Group’s Omoda and Jaecoo brands launched their own Canadian website. Their plans are a little more specific, with the site saying the two brands are “coming late 2026” and that a dealer network is being built across Canada. However, like BYD and Geely, Omoda and Jaecoo have yet to reveal Canadian pricing or a confirmed vehicle lineup.
Geely and other Chinese automakers are entering the Canadian market after Ottawa introduced a 49,000-vehicle quota for Chinese EV imports at a 6.1% tariff, effective March 1. Geely-owned Lotus has already sent its first Lotus Eletre shipment to Canada under the new framework in May, but so far Tesla has taken the majority of the quota in the first window.
