Nikola partners with ChargePoint to boost commercial EV charging infrastructure

As more companies shift their fleet of commercial vehicles to electric, one big stumbling block for many is a lack of commercial EV charging solutions.

To help their customers and others, Nikola has teamed up with ChargePoint to speed up commercial EV charging infrastructure deployment across the US.

As part of the deal, Nikola will sell ChargePoint’s charging infrastructure and solutions to Nikola truck owners, who will also get access to ChargePoint’s software packages.

The features include charging management, delivery route & schedule planning, operational metrics, and other solutions to help customers streamline their operations.

Nikola has put in an order for Chargepoint’s E-skids, a rapid deployment DC fast charging solution. Deliveries are expected to begin this month.

Nikola executive Pablo Koziner commented on the partnership:

“By having complete access to the entire ChargePoint product line to support all aspects of the Nikola business model, our Sales and Service Dealer Network will be able to reduce the time required to design, procure and construct both small- and large-scale charging infrastructure projects for our customers. This partnership enhances our ability to provide a customer-focused charging solution at the right time, at the right place, and for the right price.”
