Musk may attend today’s Tesla Q1 2022 Earnings call

Elon Musk may have confirmed on Twitter that he would attend this afternoon’s Tesla Q1 2022 Earnings Call or he may not have.

Musk responded to a question from @squawksquare asking if he would be on the earnings call.

However, further up the thread @squawksquare noted he would liquidate his entire position if Elon answered yes… so Elon may also be trolling.

Previously, Musk noted that he would only appear on earnings calls if he had important announcements to make.

Either way, the internet and Twitter are alive with rumours and whispers about what is coming.

Some believe that Musk will provide more information on his plans to acquire Twitter.

While others think he will give an update and roadmap on Giga Shanghai’s short-term strategy after its restart earlier this week. However, we have not seen anything official out of Musk or Tesla as of yet.

Before the call, Tesla will also release its Q1 2022 Update Letter. The letter will provide investors with information pertaining to Tesla’s financial performance in the first quarter of 2022.

Wall Street has high expectations for Tesla’s first quarter. To beat Wall Street expectations, Tesla will need to report earnings per share of $2.27 and total revenue of $17.8 billion.

The first-quarter earnings call will happen this afternoon at 5:30 EST or 2:30 PST.

Ahead of the call, Tesla shares have dropped roughly 4 per cent today and are hovering around $987 per share.
