Lucid targets Tesla owners with $2,000 discount called the ‘Conquest Credit Bonus’

Lucid has launched a special discount offer aimed directly at Tesla owners. Called the ‘Conquest Credit Bonus,’ Lucid is providing Tesla owners a $2,000 discount on all 2023 models of the Air sedan in an attempt to boost sales before the end of the year.

Lucid’s struggles to both produce and sell their cars is well documented. Originally hoping to produce as many as 14,000 cars this year, the luxury EV maker has dropped its target several times, most recently settling on a revised target of between 8,000 and 8,500 cars. Despite the lower target, Lucid may still struggle to sell all of the cars they produce, having only sold 4,267 Air sedans through September.

In a bid to try and reach their target, Lucid has slashed prices across its lineup, and now the company is targeting their biggest rival, Tesla. In a new “Electrify Your Holidays” sale event published on their website, Lucid is offering existing owners or lessees of any Tesla vehicle a $2,000 discount on the purchase of a 2023 Air sedan. Calling this offer a “Conquest Credit Bonus,” it is available through December 31, 2023 and also available to any BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Genesis, Audi, Porsche, Lexus, and Land Rover owners or lessees.

The offers don’t stop there. Along with the discount, Lucid is also offering a Pro Sound and Pro Driver Assistance Bonus worth C$13,050/US$9,650. If you select a “eligibility-equipped and currently available” model with Surreal Sound Pro and/or Dream Drive Pro you get both option packages for free. There is also a $300 Home Charging Bonus that goes towards the purchase of the Lucid Home Charger, which retails for $1,200.
According to Lucid’s website, these offers are available in both Canada and the US, and the same $2,000 discount (and other offers) apply in both countries.

This isn’t the first time Lucid has set their sights on Tesla owners. Earlier this year the company took one of their Air sedans to display next to a Supercharger station in California, inviting Tesla owners plugged in to take a test drive.

While these offers apply to 2023 models of the Air sedan, Lucid announced this morning a number of significant changes to their 2024 lineup. The company has reduced the number of trims available, increased the number of customization options, and also lowered prices again.
