Rivian launches ‘Spaces’ in New York, Canadian locations coming soon

Rivian has launched Spaces, a collection of retail and experiential centers coming to key locations across Canada and US. Rivian Spaces will be for current and prospective customers, where visitors can interact with and drive Rivian vehicles, speak with Experience Specialists and shop Rivian gear.

The first Space will open in New York City’s Meatpacking District on June 16th, 2023. Rivian is also planning to open a Space in Canada in Burnaby, British Columbia at The Amazing Brentwood. No specific date was provided, but in a statement to Drive Tesla a company spokesperson said it would open “soon after” the New York Space.

The Meatpacking District Space will be located at 60 10th Avenue, spanning approximately 5,000 square feet. The Space showcases Rivian’s flagship vehicles, the R1T and R1S, also offering product education and community programming to visitors. It will serve as Rivian’s first East Coast location, complementing the existing Space in Venice, California that opened in 2021. This 10th Avenue location will serve as a precursor to Rivian’s upcoming permanent Space in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

“The launch of Rivian Spaces is a key part of our next phase of growth, introducing retail sites as a primary experiential touchpoint and bringing the brand to life through an in-store experience,” said Tony Caravano, Senior Director of Customer Engagement at Rivian.

Rivian plans to expand its retail footprint throughout 2023 and 2024, introducing various Space formats, ranging from product-focused experience sites to unique locations like a former historic gas station transformed into a Rivian Charging Outpost in Groveland, CA, serving as a gateway to Yosemite National Park.

The Spaces will complement Rivian’s existing network of over two dozen service centers across the U.S. and Canada, providing a comprehensive ecosystem of support and service for Rivian owners and enthusiasts.
