Lucid Motors to unveil Air EV September 9, begin production in early 2021

Lucid Motors has announced two important dates for the company in its quest to deliver its first electric vehicle, the Lucid Air.

The company plans to officially unveil the production version of the Air at an online event scheduled for September 9, 2020. It was originally supposed to be unveiled at the New York International Auto Show, which was cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak.

The event will include a detailed look at both the interior and exterior of the vehicle. Lucid will also share the different configurations available, and the purchase prices for each.

After resuming construction at their factory in Casa Grande, Arizona several weeks ago, Lucid hopes to begin production of prototype vehicles before the end of 2020.

Production vehicles will begin rolling out of the factory in early 2021.

Earlier this year, Lucid unveiled their retail strategy and service support model. Taking a page from Tesla’s book, Lucid will be focusing on a direct-to-consumer model, as well as a mobile service team.
