Lucid is turning up the performance on its three-row electric SUV with the introduction of the Gravity GT-S, a new range-topping variant packing more than 1,000 horsepower.
Unveiled during Monterey Car Week, the 2027 Lucid Gravity GT-S produces 1,070 horsepower from its dual-motor powertrain. That is a significant jump from the 828 horsepower offered by the Gravity Grand Touring, helping cut its 0-60 mph time from 3.4 seconds to just 3.1 seconds.
Despite drawing inspiration from the 1,234-horsepower Air Sapphire, Lucid stopped short of giving the Gravity its flagship sedan’s three-motor setup.
More Than Just Extra Power
Lucid has also made some changes underneath the Gravity to help handle the extra performance. The GT-S comes standard with the company’s Dynamic Handling Package, which includes independent rear-wheel steering and an adaptive three-chamber air suspension.
The system can automatically lower the Gravity at higher speeds, while the rear-wheel steering should make the large SUV more agile at lower speeds and more stable on the highway.
The extra performance hasn’t changed the Gravity’s practical side. The GT-S retains three-row seating for up to seven passengers along with the same spacious cargo area as other versions.
Sapphire-Inspired Styling
Lucid has also borrowed some visual cues from the Air Sapphire. Blue accents appear throughout the GT-S, including on its brake calipers, badging and wheel logos.
Inside, the available Mojave PurLuxe Premium cabin continues the theme with blue seatbelts, stitching, piping and a blue steering wheel marker. Lucid Bear logos are also embossed into the front headrests.
“With Lucid Gravity GT-S, we’ve created a more expressive and exhilarating interpretation of the Gravity SUV,” said Lucid Chief Creative Officer Derek Jenkins.
The Gravity GT-S starts at US$125,900 before destination, taxes and options, putting it roughly $27,000 above the Gravity Grand Touring. Orders are now open in the United States. As of now, the Gravity GT-S is not offered in Canada.
