Lucid is making another major move into the robotaxi market, this time partnering with European mobility company Bolt on plans to deploy at least 25,000 fully autonomous electric vehicles across Europe.
According to Lucid, the vehicles will be based on its upcoming Midsize platform and developed for SAE Level 4 autonomous operation. The platform is expected to use NVIDIA Hyperion, which combines the computing hardware and sensor suite.
Bolt Autonomous Driving Solutions will lead the program on Bolt’s side, while the recently formed Lucid Technologies unit will oversee Lucid’s involvement. Bolt intends to own and operate the vehicles, while also developing the fleet infrastructure, operating systems and city partnerships required to put them into service.
“Autonomous driving in Europe requires data, software, vehicles, and operations to work as one system built for European roads and regulation,” Bolt founder and CEO Markus Villig said.
Neither company has provided a timeline for when the first vehicles will enter service.
This isn’t Lucid’s first major robotaxi deal. In July 2025, the automaker partnered with Uber and Nuro on a separate program involving at least 20,000 Lucid Gravity vehicles. Under that arrangement, Lucid supplies and engineers the vehicle platform while Nuro provides the Level 4 autonomous driving system.
