Tesla CEO Elon Musk was the ‘Red Chair’ guest speaker at the Code Conference 2021 yesterday afternoon in Beverly Hills, California. Hosted by Kara Swisher, a prominent Silicon Valley journalist, the conference was billed as one where the “power players” of the tech industry are held accountable in “signature unscripted Red Chair Interviews.”
Musk was on stage for more than one hour answering questions on a variety of topics.
One of those was space and the recent feud between Musk’s SpaceX and Bezos’ Blue Origin, in particular the latter’s multiple attempts to use the court system to slow down SpaceX’s progress.
When asked about the lawsuits, Musk took a jab at Bezos, saying “You cannot sue your way to the moon.” Musk also talked about the odd shape of Bezos’ rockets, and the fact that Bezos didn’t actually reach space during his test flight last month.
“If you’re only going to suborbital your rocket can be… shorter,” said Musk (via The Verge)
Musk also talked about how the Biden Administration seemingly caters to unions, how he thinks Tesla might not need a non-disclosure (NDA) agreement with FSD beta testers, and even about his favourite topic, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
Or as he referred to it, the short-seller enrichment commission.
