Chehalis, WA to get first Tesla Supercharger station

The Chehalis City Council voted to enter into an agreement with Tesla to build an eight-station Supercharger in the city.

The new eight-stall Supercharger will pop up near the Chehalis Home Depot on 700 NW Arkansas Way.

Tesla will start work on the Supercharger on September 1st, and according to the agreement, the chargers will be functional within the year.

As per city documents reported by The Chronicle, the Tesla Supercharging station will need 200 to 400 square feet in addition to the parking spaces for equipment.

Tesla will also pay the City of Chehalis $600 a month to rent the space.

The initial agreement between Tesla and the city will expire five years after the stations go live.

However, Tesla has two intervals in which it can extend the deal by an additional five years.

It has been a big couple of months for the EV community in Chehalis. Last month, the City Council approved four additional EVgo Service charging stations at the same location.
