Tesla has added Illuminated Door Sill Plates its online shop for the Model 3, but unfortunately it is only currently available in Europe.
The new accessory is something that has been available through a number of aftermarket options for several years. Unlike many of these options that need to be recharged through a USB port, Tesla’s official accessory features battery-powered LEDs that are activated by a magnetic switch.
Not only does this provide extra long battery life, it also means it is a totally wireless installation.
The Model 3 Illuminated Door Sill Plates are available for €250 ($370 CAD/$295 USD). Each kit comes with 2 sill plates, 2 magnetic switches and mounting plates, and all the necessary tools for an easy installation (instructions included).
As mentioned they are only available in Europe at the moment, but it should hopefully arrive in the Tesla Shop in North America soon.
