Tesla to build Superchargers at select locations on Ohio Turnpike

Travellers on Ohio’s Interstate 80 will soon be able to enjoy a Supercharged voyage across the state.

In December, Tesla opened 2 Supercharging stations at the Wyandot and Blue Heron service plazasĀ in Genoa.

This week, we found out that Tesla and the Turnpike Authority have reached an agreement to build Supercharging stations at a number of other plazas in the state.

These are the locations we know of so far:

  • Tiffin River and Indian Meadow service plazas – West Unity
  • Great Lakes and Towpath service plazas – Broadview Heights
  • Mahoning Valley and Glacier Hills service plazas – New Springfield

This is not the first time we’ve seen a turnpike authority team up with Tesla.

Back in 2020, the New Jersey Turnpike Authority teamed up with Tesla to install Superchargers at 8 travel plazas along I-95.

Meanwhile, states like Pennsylvania and Indiana are also getting Superchargers installed at turnpike rest stops.
