Tesla Now Has Nearly 200 Cybercabs in Houston as Testing Ramps Up

Houston’s Cybercab count has nearly quadrupled in under a month. In mid-September the Cybercab fleet stood around 50, before climbing to roughly 105 by the end of the month. According to the latest count, that number has now swelled closer to 200.

The latest count comes from new drone footage shared by longtime Tesla watcher S.E. Robinson Jr., showing the yard packed with gold Cybercabs, with a few Model Y Robotaxis. By his estimate, 190 to 200 Cybercabs are in Houston. About 15 were plugged in, and more sat inside Tesla’s Hempstead Center.

These vehicles aren’t just sitting in storage, either. The footage also shows cabs leaving the yard for test runs on surrounding streets, although they aren’t available for public rides just yet.

Houston could be Tesla’s next Cybercab market

Tesla’s Model Y robotaxis are already carrying riders in Houston. Cybercab rides however are still limited to Austin, where the fleet size stands at 169, according to records with the local DMV. Miami is another candidate for the next Cybercab launch where the company also has a lot full of Cybercabs by the airport.

Those Cybercabs were almost destroyed last month after a plane overshot the runway at the airport.
