Second Tesla Supercharger under construction in Coquitlam [British Columbia]

Tesla owners in Coquitlam, British Columbia are going to be happy to hear a second Supercharger station is currently under construction in the city. Interestingly the new site is located just a few minutes away from the existing Supercharger.

Coquitlam received its first Supercharger in 2021, a 12-stall V3  Supercharger just off Lougheed Highway. With the huge number of Tesla owners in the area, Tesla expanded the site to add another four stalls, brining the total number of Supercharger in Coquitlam to 16.

It appears they learned from their first experience as that number is going to double to 32 soon, as the automaker is currently building another 16 stall Supercharger south of Hwy 1 in the Tim Hortons/Wendy’s parking lot at 1450 United Blvd, just a short 6 minute (3km) drive from the other location. According to a photo of the site taken on Sunday and shared on the Tesla Model 3 Canadian Facebook group by Marc Sharpe, all of the ground work has been completed and crews are waiting on the arrival of the Supercharger hardware.

Tesla does have a site planned for Coquitlam on the Find-Us Supercharger map, and it is scheduled to open in Q4 2023. However based on the current progress it appears this site will open in Q3 2023.
