New Minas Supercharger now open [Nova Scotia]

The long wait is finally over. The Tesla Supercharger station in New Minas, Nova Scotia has been turned on and is finally active.

The story of the New Minas Supercharger began all the way back in October 2021. Construction of this particular Supercharger was noteworthy because it was the first time Tesla had used their prefabricated Superchargers in Canada.

This method usually means a quick turnaround, as quick as 8 days, but that was not the case for New Minas, as it sat stalled for nearly nine months waiting for the required electrical equipment.

Nova Scotia Power was finally able to get their side of things sorted and Tesla activated the 8 stall Supercharger within the last 24 hours. Michael Aalders shared this photo on Facebook of his Model 3 plugged in at the station this morning.

The New Minas Supercharger is located at the New Minas Big Stop at 5477 Prospect Rd. It is Nova Scotia’s second Supercharger, with the other station located about one hour away in Enfield.

There are plans for just one other Supercharger in Nova Scotia. The Westville Supercharger is scheduled to open in Q3 2022, but we have not seen any signs of construction starting on that location yet.
