Edson Tesla Supercharger begins construction [Alberta]

Tesla’s Supercharger team is working rapidly to open as many new stations in Canada as possible before the winter freeze begins. The latest to begin construction is in Edson, Alberta.

Earlier this year Drive Tesla uncovered the permit for the Edson Supercharger, confirming the location to be in the parking lot of the Boston Pizza at 4523 4 Avenue.

According to photos taken of the site on Thursday, some prep work has begun and conduit already laid for the electrical work to begin shortly. When complete it will feature 6 V3 Supercharger stalls and 2 generic stations, likely on the FLO network.

Based on the recent pace of construction at other Supercharger sites in neighbouring B.C., this site should be ready to be activated later this month. Nearby amenities include the Boston Pizza, as well as A&W, Original Joes, and a Papa John’s Pizza.

Completion of the Edson Supercharger along the Yellowhead Highway (Hwy 16) in Alberta will complete the route between Edmonton and Jasper. Crews recently finished working on the Supercharger in Jasper, and that station should also go online soon.
