United Airlines Expands Starlink Wi-Fi to Nearly Half of All Flights, Launches New Tracking Tool

United Airlines has reached another major milestone in its Starlink rollout, with SpaceX’s satellite internet service now available on nearly half of the airline’s daily flights. The carrier has also launched a new online tool allowing passengers to check whether their upcoming flight will have Starlink connectivity.

According to United, more than 635 aircraft are now equipped with Starlink, serving over 250,000 passengers daily across more than 2,500 flights. The airline is continuing installations at a pace of approximately 20 aircraft per week.

United’s Starlink rollout began in May 2025 with its regional Embraer E175 jets, following FAA certification earlier that year. By February 2026, the airline had surpassed 300 equipped aircraft, covering more than 25% of daily departures. Starlink has since expanded to larger aircraft, including transatlantic routes.

The latest addition is the Starlink Tracker, which allows passengers to enter their flight number and travel date within three days of departure to check connectivity availability. The tool also provides daily installation statistics, aircraft breakdowns, and Starlink coverage percentages across United’s seven major hubs.

The numbers highlight just how quickly the service is expanding. United says more than 37.7 million passengers have travelled aboard Starlink-equipped aircraft across more than 538,000 flights, connecting 14 million devices.

United expects to complete its fleetwide Starlink installations by the end of 2027. Competition is also increasing, with American Airlines recently expanding its own Starlink agreement to cover more than 1,030 aircraft.
