Tesla has added a long-requested amenity at a Supercharger station in Germany that will not only help owners pass the time while plugging in, but also get their cars cleaner.
As Tesla rapidly expanded its Supercharger network, the company’s primary focus was on adding charging infrastructure to support its growing fleet of vehicles. As a result, most Supercharger stations featured little more than the charging stalls themselves, with few additional amenities for drivers. In many cases, sites lacked even basic conveniences such as garbage cans, leaving owners with limited options to dispose of trash during a charging stop.
In recent years Tesla has turned more of their focus towards adding amenities, such as charging lounges, the aforementioned garbage cans, and even unique temporary attractions like a pool.
But for years, Tesla owners have been asking the company to add more convenience-focused amenities, similar to what drivers have come to expect at traditional gas stations, such as vacuum cleaners, air pumps, or windshield cleaning stations. Many argued that these features would make charging stops feel more useful considering the longer dwell times associated with charging.
In what is hopefully a first step towards a broader rollout, a Supercharger station in Germany has been spotted with what appears to be the company’s first dedicated vehicle vacuum cleaner, allowing drivers to clean their cars while they charge.
The setup was recently shared on social media by Tesla owner Warren Whyte, who posted photos of the vacuum station installed directly beside the charging stalls. This same station features a charging lounge and solar canopies.

While there is no indication yet that Tesla plans to roll out vacuum stations more broadly, the overwhelmingly positive reaction from owners online suggests it would be a popular addition.
For now, the new vacuum installation in Germany appears to be a step in the right direction, transforming charging time into an opportunity for drivers to take care of routine vehicle cleaning and maintenance while they wait.
