Tesla has filed a new management report in Germany, revealing the company expects a significant increase in production at Giga Berlin during 2026 while continuing to invest heavily in expanding battery manufacturing.
According to Tesla Manufacturing Brandenburg SE’s 2025 annual report, the company expects “a significant increase in production volume” this year compared to 2025, along with higher capacity utilization as demand for the Model Y continues to recover.
The report also notes that Giga Berlin currently supplies more than 30 markets, with plans to expand into additional countries in the future.
While much of the production growth had already been announced, the filing reinforces Tesla’s confidence in the factory’s outlook. The automaker recently confirmed it will increase production at Giga Berlin by another 20% beginning in October, raising output to 7,500 vehicles per week.
Combined with an earlier production increase announced this spring, Tesla says the expansion will create approximately 3,500 new jobs.
The report also sheds more light on Tesla’s long-term battery plans in Germany. Management disclosed that the company approved additional investments in battery cell production during 2025, initially targeting annual capacity of up to 8 GWh through hundreds of millions of dollars in additional spending.
Since then, Tesla has expanded those plans, with battery cell capacity now expected to reach as much as 18 GWh annually.
Tesla said the additional investment will bring its total spending on battery cell manufacturing at the site to nearly US$1.4 billion.
The update follows a strong second quarter for Tesla globally, where the company significantly outperformed Wall Street’s expectations. With the increasing confidence in Giga Berlin, the stage for what could be an even stronger second half of the year if demand continues to improve.
