Tesla has officially widened the rollout of FSD V14 Lite, with Hardware 3 (HW3/AI3) owners across both Canada and the United States now reporting the long-awaited software update is arriving on their vehicles.
The wider deployment of version 2026.20.6.10 is a major milestone for Tesla’s HW3 fleet, which has been waiting 18 months for a significant FSD update.

A major leap forward for HW3
V14 Lite is Tesla’s answer to one of its biggest software challenges – bringing many of the improvements developed for newer HW4/AI4 vehicles to the millions of older Teslas still equipped with HW3.
Rather than simply backporting features, Tesla says the software “distills” intelligence from the HW4 V14 stack, allowing HW3 vehicles to benefit from improvements developed using reinforcement learning and offline AI training despite their more limited computing resources.
The update delivers better handling of merges, intersections, traffic lights, pedestrians, vehicle cut-ins, and general navigation, while also reducing unnecessary slowdowns and improving lane centering and steering smoothness.
It also adds several long-awaited features that help close the gap between HW3 and HW4, including parking, unparking, reversing, customizable Arrival Options, and Speed Profiles for city driving.
Tesla continues refining the experience
Tesla has not stopped with the initial release. Earlier this week the company pushed version 2026.20.6.10 to Early Access testers, adding several quality-of-life improvements borrowed directly from the HW4 V14 experience.
Those additions include a dedicated Self-Driving app, a new Start Self-Driving button that can engage FSD from Park without brake confirmation in certain situations, Self-Driving Streaks, and upgraded destination visuals. This is now the version being pushed to the broader fleet.
When will you get it?
As with all Tesla software releases, the rollout will be gradual and not every HW3 owner will receive the update in this first wave – in fact we haven’t received it on either our 2019 Model 3 or 2022 Model Y. However, availability is expected to increase over the coming days as the staged rollout continues.
