Tesla Says FSD Owners Won’t Miss Out on Halloween Mode

Halloween Mode release note

Halloween Mode is headed to cars on Tesla’s FSD software track, and soon. As we reported earlier this week, Tesla began rolling out its first ever Halloween update with software version 2026.38.3. Halloween Mode includes a ghost costume for the vehicle visualization, interactive Trick or Treat sounds and lights, a new Halloween light show, themed wraps, Photobooth effects, and a creepy remote voice feature.

The update is still in a very limited rollout, but as is often the case with new Tesla features, owners on the separate FSD software branch typically have to wait longer for them to arrive.

One owner had threatened to drop FSD rather than miss out on the spooky features. Kalena Brown, who works on FSD software at Tesla, had a simple reply:

The response confirms Tesla will merge Halloween Mode into an upcoming FSD software release.

Why FSD Owners Are Still Waiting

Tesla maintains separate software branches for its regular vehicle updates and FSD releases. While FSD subscribers typically receive the newest self-driving improvements first, they sometimes have to wait several weeks for features introduced through the main software branch.

That is currently the case with FSD v14.3.11, which recently began rolling out with update 2026.33.5 without the Halloween additions.

No specific release date was given, and it’s not yet clear which FSD version will include Halloween Mode. However, the reply suggests owners won’t need to sacrifice access to the latest FSD improvements just to enjoy the features in time for Halloween.
